Common mistakes and quick fixes
Mistake: Using Fluid ounce type as US fluid ounces when the source says Imperial fl oz.
Fix: Change Fluid ounce type to Imperial fluid ounces before reading Converted volume .
Mistake: Entering weight ounces in Volume (fluid ounces) .

- US fluid ounces and Imperial fluid ounces are different sizes, so the Fluid ounce type choice can change the answer by about 4%.
- If this is a US liquid amount is shown only for US fluid ounce amounts to avoid mixing US gallons, quarts, and cups with Imperial fluid ounces.
- Negative volumes are blocked because this page is for physical amounts of space or liquid.
- The Round answer to setting changes the displayed answer. Use more decimal places if you need a closer check against a textbook or spreadsheet.
- The calculation does not adjust for temperature, container shape, fill line accuracy, or measuring-tool error.
Methodology
How the conversion is chosen
The converter reads the selected Convert direction and Fluid ounce type. It reads only the visible starting amount: Volume (cubic feet) for cubic feet to fluid ounces, or Volume (fluid ounces) for fluid ounces to cubic feet.
US fluid ounce formulas
For US liquid measure, 1 cubic foot is 1728 cubic inches, 1 US gallon is 231 cubic inches, and 1 US gallon is 128 US fluid ounces.

For Imperial measure, the converter uses 28.316846592 liters per cubic foot, 4.54609 liters per Imperial gallon, and 160 Imperial fluid ounces per Imperial gallon [4].
