  • The liquid amount must be a finite number that is 0 or greater. Zero is valid and converts to zero pints.

Methodology

Calculation

The converter divides the entered liquid volume by the number of fluid ounces in one pint for the selected system. A US liquid pint equals 16 US fluid ounces, and an Imperial pint equals 20 Imperial fluid ounces.

pints = fluid ounces / fluid ounces per pint

The calculator keeps the unrounded answer, then rounds only the number displayed.

Worked example

For 24 US fluid ounces, divide 24 by 16. The converted amount is 1.5 US liquid pints.
