Worked example

For 1,500 meters, divide 1,500 by 1,000. The distance is 1.5 kilometers.

1,500 m / 1,000 = 1.5 km

Display rounding

The calculation uses the unrounded converted value, then formats it for display. For example, 2.5 m is 0.0025 km. If you select two decimal places, it displays as 0.00 km even though the converted value is not zero.
